Who Am I

Hello my name is Ailsa MacDonald, I have finished my third year at Carleton University. I am enrolled in the Bachelor of Architectural Studies: Conservation and Sustainability program at the Azrieli School of Architecture and Urbanism. I enjoy working with my classmates to develop designs that are creative in order to meet the needs of the present without compromising the future or the past of a site. I enjoy hand sketching, watercolour, oil painting, photography, digital drafting, and model making. Assessing and researching the entire state of a site allows us to thoroughly understand the significance of its narrative through many different lenses. I believe a sense of belonging comes from deep within ourselves, but in order to access this feeling we also have to make purposeful contributions to the evolution of our communities.

I grew up in Orangeville, Ontario, Canada playing sports and getting outdoors as much as possible. I enjoy downhill skiing, horseback riding, ice hockey, soccer, trail running, hiking, and rock climbing.
